DESCRIPTION: Uniform bright green or brown above,
with an intense white stripe along the lower lip and extending back
below the tympanum to above the base of the forelimb. Another white
stripe along the hindlimb, including the fifth and most of the fourth
toes. Ventral surface whitish. The white stripes on the sides of the
head and hindlimbs may become pink at times. Skin finely granular or
shagreen above, very coarsely granular below, except for throat which
is nearly smooth. Vomerine teeth very prominent, between the choanae.
No pectoral fold. Fingers and toe discs large. Fingers at least half-webbed.
Toes nearly fully webbed. A large inner metatarsal tubercle, no outer.
Tympanum very distinct. Second finger longer than first. 110mm.
HABITAT: Coastal and adjacent areas of north-eastern
Qld, north of Townsville and extending to around Cape York Peninsula
into the gulf of Carpentaria. Widely distributed throughout New Guinea
and its island archipelagos.
MICRO-HABITAT: Found in a wide varieties of habitats,
from rainforests to cultivated areas; frequently inhabits house, sheds
etc. Forages on humid or wet evenings.
