| Short Neck Turtle |
 |
| Also known
as the Murray Turtle. Olive brown or dark brown above,
white or yellowish below. No pale temporal stripe, or
occasionally a discontinuous one; a pale yellowish strip
along the lower jaw to the side of the neck and just contacting
the rim of the tympanum.

| Long Neck Turtle |
 |
| Colour variable,
from rich brown to dark brown or black above, in lighter
coloured specimens the sutures between the scutes of the
carapace outlined in black. White or cream below, the
sutures of the plastron and lower margin of carapace broadly
edged with black.
