| Large distinctive
python with small fragmented head shields. Four subspecies
are currently recognised though a number of distinctly
patterned populations occur. It remains to be demonstrated
whether these represent additional subspecies. |

| Brown Tree Snake |
 |
| Moderately
slender tree snake. Several distinct colour forms occur.
( NT form shown in picture ). Ground colour may be black
(common from Townsville to mid-east Qld), bright yellow
to yellowish-brown merging to pale bluish-grey on head
and neck (predominant through nth. Australia), olive-green,
dull green/blue-green. |
